Acoustic performance is one of the few specifications that gets tested at handover and either passes or fails. There is no half-mark. A residential separating wall either hits its Rw 45dB number or the building does not get signed off.
We install acoustic systems specified by the project’s acoustic engineer, to the laboratory tested build-up. No substitutions made on site, no flanking paths created by improvised detailing, no last-minute service penetrations punched through without sealing. The walls and ceilings that come out of our scope hit their numbers.
Separating walls
Twin-frame independent stud walls for residential, hotel and student accommodation. Robust Details registered build-ups where the project is taking the RD compliance route for Approved Document E. We work to the registered checklist on every plot and the records go in the handover.
Acoustic ceilings
Class A absorbing ceilings (αw 0.90 or higher) where reverberation control is the brief, supplied by Ecophon, Rockfon or Zentia depending on the visual and humidity requirements. BB93-compliant ceilings for teaching and learning environments, with the absorption class and ceiling height stated against each room type.
Rafts, baffles and wall panels
Where the architect wants the structural soffit visible, free-hanging rafts and baffles deliver the absorption without losing the look. We supply and install vertical baffles, horizontal islands, wall panels and wrapped feature elements coordinated with the M&E and lighting strategy.
Pre-completion testing
For residential and hotel work where pre-completion sound testing is required, we coordinate with the testing house, attend the test, and remediate any flanking issues identified. The test reports go into the project handover pack.
